Acquitted. Not removed. Or exonerated.

The Senate, pretty much along party lines (Mitt Romney of Utah voted with the Democrats), voted today, Wednesday, February 5, 2020 (Black History Month, by the way) to acquit Pres. Donald J. Trump of both Articles of Impeachment: 

1) Abuse of Power (soliciting a foreign power -- the Ukraine -- to interfere in 2020 elections by investigating Joe & Hunter Biden), and
2) Obstruction of Congress (by not providing documents or witnesses) 

Keep in mind, though, that he's still been impeached.  The Senate voted to acquit him of those charges, but he is not exonerated, meaning, he's still guilty.  That part will never change.

And what, if anything, did Donald Trump learn from this move by the Senate?  He learned, rather quickly, that he can pretty much say/do anything he wants and there are no consequences for those words or actions.
It's pretty naive for even one Republican to suggest that, "...he's learned his lesson."  No. No, he hasn't. 

And why won't Mitch address Trump's conduct?  Simple, he needs Daddy to help him get re-elected later in 2020 in his Senate race in Kentucky.  Very simple.

Quid Pro Quo

We've been hearing a lot about it in the news lately in regards to Trump and The Ukraine.  Specifically, Trump holding up military aid already approved by Congress in exchange for dirt/information on Hunter & Joe Biden.

"Quid Pro Quo" is a Latin phrase meaning basically, a favor or advantage granted or expected in return for something. The "something" in this case, that information in exchange for pre-approved military aid. 

The problem, Trump and/or any president, cannot simply hold back aid and resources previously approved.
I believe the term for that action is abuse of power.

What amazes me with all of this, you just know Trump has done this hundreds, if not thousands of times over the past 35 to 40 years in his "business" dealings.  It's in quotes because it is very shady, questionable behavior.

Illegal?  In some cases, yes.

The really weird part, of course, is that Trump has done this before.  Only now he knows the name for it:
"Quid Pro Quo", something he still can't pronounce.

Unbelievable.
