~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This
is in response to the mass shooting at the Marjory Stoneman-Douglas High School
in Parkland, Florida. The students
behind and inside of this movement need to hold not only the current
Administration and Congress and Senate accountable, but the NRA as well. Hold them to task.
As
a former grade school teacher, I can tell you that when your school building,
faculty, staff, parents, students and teachers are in crisis mode, and you are
just trying to keep your students safe from harm during a lockdown situation,
the LAST thing on your mind is, "Where is my firearm?"
More
guns are never the appropriate answer. Wayne Robert LaPierre, Jr. is an
American author and gun rights advocate. He is best known for his position as
the executive vice president of the National Rifle Association. When Mr.
LaPierre said, "To stop a bad guy with a gun, it takes a good guy with a
gun."
He
failed to mention that the 'good guy' in this case, in this situation, is
always a law enforcement officer. Why?
And when he uses words like, "socialist",
"Democrats" and so on, HE is politicizing things. He is getting his members riled up. Again,
why?
Other
countries with similar freedoms and liberties as we have in the U.S., they
don’t have these issues.
Who are the
“Snowflakes” now, Wayne?
Seems
as though the NRA is more like a hate group in many respects. They want, long for, need, and require, ONLY their version of the truth. Sound
familiar? No. 45 holds that same belief, otherwise he calls it “Fake News”.
Somehow,
in some way(s) the NRA needs to lose its death-grip on the Republican Party and
conservatives, otherwise, they are guaranteeing many, many more of these mass
killings.
Arming
educators because YOU as an outside organization, a political organization,
believe that schools NEED armed teachers in your image may be YOUR new reality,
but it is most certainly not the new NORMAL.
People will not stand for this any longer.
In
the mind of Mr. LaPierre and the NRA membership at large, more guns are ALWAYS
the right answer.
Those
students at Stoneman-Douglas High School will tell you otherwise. They will take you down and expose you.
Marjory Stoneman Douglas (April 7, 1890 – May 14, 1998)
was an American journalist, author, women's suffrage advocate, and
conservationist known for her staunch defense of the Everglades against efforts
to drain it and reclaim land for development.
This table lists candidates
receiving money from this organization in 2015-2016. The organizations themselves did not donate, rather the money came
from the organizations' PACs, their individual members or employees or owners,
and those individuals' immediate families. Organization totals may
include subsidiaries and affiliates.
METHODOLOGY: The numbers on this
page are based on contributions from PACs and individuals giving $200 or more.
All donations were made during the 2016 election cycle and were released by the
Federal Election Commission. Figures for the current election cycle are based
on data released on May 16, 2017.
